AURINKO was established in 1998 by Jens Gjerlev to deliver services for civil aviation in the area of RNAV applications and instrument flight procedure design.

AURINKO developed and facilitated the first GPS approach in Norway in 2001. This was also one of the very first operational applications in Europe.

Today, the aviation world is transitioning to Performance Based Navigation - PBN - as the overarching navigation concept.

AURINKO delivers services in the areas of PBN operational concepts and pilot training.

The book Instrument Flight Procedures - PANS-OPS and PBN operations for Instrument Rating and ATPL - was published in January 2020.
